How do you record 8mm camcorder tapes using a Protron dvd recorder? - camcorder to dvd using a vc-211a cable

I try to record my 8mm tapes to DVD, but if I connect everything together, I can hear the audio. My camcorder is a Sony CCD-TR66, and has only two ports for A / V cable Does it make any difference if I use a three-point A / V cables? I tried to play on my recorder, and I can hear the sound, but when it comes to the DVD recorder, I can not hear anything.
