I have a Canon Rebel XT and Sunpak 383 external flash. I want to use flash with an umbrella. What kind of cable I set up the camera and flash?

The Canon OC-E3 cord. There are generic versions of this cable is available, but there are many reviews that say they simply want to buy only the original.
